PRIMES CITY Whitepaper
A community built around prime numbers

Primes City
Whitepaper

How mining, representation, and ownership work in a virtual city where every citizen can be assigned a prime.

01

Purpose

Primes City is a virtual community where participants can earn cryptocurrency by engaging in its ecosystem. Within this city, representatives are selected based on specific criteria (outlined below). These representatives participate in the decision-making processes of the virtual city, contributing their insights and votes, as governance features roll out — see the Roadmap for current status.

Membership

To join Primes City, users need to interact with the Telegram bot @primescitybot and grant it permission to send messages. This can be done by searching for @primescitybot in the Telegram app and clicking the Start button.

Note: blocking the bot is equivalent to leaving the city, which results in the loss of all assets.

Cryptocurrency Mining

Primes City operates with two cryptocurrencies:

  • PNT — a high-value currency awarded for mining a prime number.
  • CNT — a less valuable currency awarded for mining a composite number.

Mining process. Users have five minutes to click the Mine button sent to them by the bot. Depending on whether the associated number is prime or composite, the user earns PNT or CNT.

  • If the user already owns a prime number, or the mined prime is currently owned by another user, the system awards PNT instead.
  • Otherwise, the prime number is assigned to the user, and they become a city representative.

Missed mining opportunities. If a user fails to click Mine within the allotted time, they lose that package — with one exception: users can mine a package without clicking Mine if they've successfully invited 10 new members to join. For every 10 successful invitations, the user's invitation count decreases by 10, and the package is considered mined on their behalf.

04

Representation in the City

When a prime number is assigned to a user, they become a representative of Primes City for as long as they hold that prime number.

Conditions for prime number assignment:

  1. The prime number must not currently be assigned to another user.
  2. The user must not already hold a prime number.

If these conditions aren't met, the system awards PNT instead of assigning the prime number.

Prime Numbers and NFTs

Collection live

Primes City has released a fixed-supply NFT collection: 10,000 items total, of which the first 1,000 are being released in batches — the first 100 are live now on getgems. Each NFT corresponds to one of the first primes; twin primes are marked with a crown.

Unlike earlier plans, NFTs are not minted automatically as a side effect of mining — the collection is a separate, curated release, available for anyone to acquire on the open market.

5.1 Holder benefits

In progress
  • Mining bonus. While your connected wallet holds a Primes City NFT, mining pays out as if you were a citizen, regardless of your actual visitor/resident/citizen status — plus a loyalty bonus on top of your normal earnings (visitors: +1, residents: +2, citizens: +3 loyalty per mine). This is checked live at the moment you mine, based on your wallet's current holdings — nothing is stored or "banked" ahead of time, so it always reflects what you actually hold right now.
  • Secondary sale royalty share. A fixed share of the royalty from second-hand sales of any Primes City NFT is distributed among current holders.

5.2 What changed from earlier plans

Two earlier ideas have been retired, in the interest of keeping this document accurate:

  • NFTs are no longer minted automatically when a user is assigned a prime through mining.
  • The "holding an NFT prevents you from losing your prime at cycle-end" policy has been removed. It created situations where selling an NFT, or reconnecting a wallet, could produce inconsistent or exploitable outcomes. Prime ownership now follows the same mining-cycle rules for everyone, regardless of NFT ownership.
06

Distribution of Numbers Among Users

A package containing a natural number between 1 and 104,742 circulates among users of the bot. Each time the package is passed to a user, the number increases by one. When a user receives it, they have five minutes to click Mine. The outcome depends on the number:

  1. If the number is prime and the user meets the conditions, they're assigned the prime number.
  2. If the number is prime but conditions are unmet, the user receives PNT.
  3. If the number is composite, the user receives CNT.
At the end of a full cycle, the package resets to 1 after reaching 104,742. The package number increments regardless of whether the user clicks Mine. The number 1 is neither prime nor composite, so no rewards are given when it's mined. System ownership of a prime number persists until the cycle concludes, at which point reassignment conditions are evaluated.

Time and Package Rotation

In Primes City, one hour corresponds to the package rotating between 12 users. Accordingly:

  • 288 users = 1 day
  • 8,640 users = 1 month
  • 104,742 users = 1 year
08

Allocation of PNT

When a user mines a prime number but doesn't meet the conditions for assignment, they receive one unit of PNT.

09

Allocation of CNT

When a user mines a composite number, they receive one unit of CNT. Additionally, CNT is distributed among the holders of the prime numbers that are factors of that composite, proportional to their occurrence in its factorization.

Example If the composite number is 12: the miner receives 1 CNT. Since 12 = 2 × 2 × 3, one additional CNT is distributed as two-thirds to the owner of 2, and one-third to the owner of 3.
10

Incentives and Benefits

  • Rewarding activity — users actively engaging in mining earn cryptocurrency.
  • Governance participation — representatives influence the city's policies and developments.
  • Tradable assets — NFTs representing prime numbers provide an opportunity to own and trade unique digital assets.
  • Invitation-based rewards — users inviting others can use their invitation count to mine packages without clicking Mine, fostering community growth.

Conclusion

Primes City combines cryptocurrency and NFTs to create a dynamic, engaging virtual community. Participants earn rewards, influence governance, and own unique digital assets. By merging blockchain technology with a gamified, number-theory-driven experience, Primes City offers a distinctive platform for digital collaboration and growth.

Where things stand

Roadmap

Primes City is built in stages. Some things below are live today, some are actively being built, and some are ideas still being explored. This page updates as things move between those states.

● Live now

  • Bot & mini appMining, the PNT/CNT economy, and visitor → resident → citizen progression.
  • Primes City NFTsA fixed supply of 10,000 — first 100 released now on getgems. Twin primes wear the crown.
  • Daily quiz, checks & referralsCore engagement features already running in the bot.

● In progress

  • NFT mining bonusCitizen-level mining payouts and tiered loyalty for any wallet holding a Primes City NFT.
  • Royalty shareA fixed share of secondary-sale royalty distributed to current NFT holders.

● Exploring

  • The High TableA private channel where prime holders can speak as their prime — "Prime 2 says…" — without revealing who they are. An early step toward real representation.
  • Further NFT batchesReleased as demand supports them, up to the fixed 10,000 total.
  • Broader governanceBeyond the High Table, if and when the community grows to need it.
